Welsh soprano, Jessica Robinson, studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama graduating with a first-class honours degree and distinction in MA Opera Performance. She was a finalist in the 2023 Cardiff Singer of the World.
She has sung with Welsh National Opera, Grange Park Opera, Swansea City Opera and Longborough Festival Opera. Her roles include Rosina Il barbiere di Siviglia, Despina Così fan tutte, Heavenly Voice Don Carlos and Siren in Caccini’s La liberazione di Ruggiero.
She sung the roles of Yvette, Georgette and Fleury in Opera Rara’s recording of the 1921 version of Puccini’s La Rodine conducted by Carlo Rizzi. She also features on a recording of Welsh music with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Owain Arwel Hughes for Rubicon.
She sings regularly as soloist in oratorio and concert. Highlights include Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra broadcast on BBC Radio 3, as soloist with the London Welsh Male Voice Choir at the Royal Albert Hall and Handel’s Messiah at the Wales Millennium Centre. Internationally she has performed in New York, China, Switzerland and Italy.
She has received numerous awards and scholarships winning the Welsh Singers Competition in 2022. She currently studies with Rebecca Evans.
Future engagements include An Evening with Ivor Novello at the Three Choirs Festival.
